The strength that moves cities

Since 1961 we have been building networks and infrastructure that sustain the life of cities: energy, water, lighting and technology services. Founded in Rome as a company specialising in underground works and public lighting, over time CEBAT has expanded its expertise, equipment and people, evolving into high voltage, water networks, digital connections and complex civil works.

CEBAT's History

1961

Cebat is founded in Rome as a company specialising in underground works and public lighting.

Early 2000s

The company develops increasingly solid expertise in high and medium voltage connections, becoming one of the main operators in the sector in the Rome area while progressively expanding its equipment, expertise and fields of operation.

2012

CEBAT enters the water sector with its first major water distribution contract, strengthening its role in the construction and management of essential infrastructure for local communities.

2014-2020

During these years CEBAT builds the Italian section of the Piedmont–Savoy HVDC link, consolidating its expertise in large, highly complex electrical infrastructure.

2020

With the acquisition of Quadrifoglio Drilling, CEBAT expands its scope to trenchless technologies and strengthens its expertise in horizontal directional drilling. During the same period it participates in the SuedLink project in Germany.

2021

CEBAT completes the first renewable HV connection for an EDP wind farm and signs a major contract for the connection of a 150 kV data centre. In the same year it strengthens its position in the construction of HV overhead lines, obtaining Terna qualification in this strategic sector.

2022

CEBAT grows in the water and renewables sectors with projects for Gruppo CAP, HERA and Siciliacque, and carries out HV and MV connections for large photovoltaic installations for clients such as Iberdrola, Enfinity Global, Mytilineos and Solarig.

During the same period it secures new strategic contracts for networks and public utility works, exceeds 5 GW of design for HV cable ducts dedicated to offshore wind farms and enters the gas distribution sector.

2023

CEBAT acquires 100% of the share capital of Giubergia & Armando S.r.l., a major player in the maintenance and construction of MV/LV electricity distribution systems in northern Italy.

2024

CEBAT signs its sixth contract for the HV connection of a hyperscale data centre, establishing itself as the reference player in this sector.

After completing the Zuel Somprade cable duct for the 2021 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo, CEBAT also completes the Laion-Corvara cable duct in South Tyrol, in support of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

2025

CEBAT, in a joint venture with Prysmian and Roda S.p.A., wins the contract for the construction of the ELMED project, the HVDC link between Italy and Tunisia.

In the same year, the island of Mozia, in the province of Trapani, is connected to the national grid for the first time through a drilling of over 1,300 metres. Contracts for private connections dedicated to data centres and renewables exceed 20.

Quadrifoglio Drilling also completes the drilling for the Tyrrhenian Link landfalls in Sicily and begins drilling for the SA.CO.I. 3 landfalls, the link between Tuscany, Corsica and Sardinia.

Our Ambition

In supporting the country’s energy and digital transition, and contributing to the quality of life of communities, we aim to become a leading partner for the construction, management and development of strategic infrastructure.

We do this by combining technical expertise, executive capacity, innovation and responsibility towards the environment, people and local communities.

Our Values

These are the foundation on which we build solid relationships, reliable projects and infrastructure that stands the test of time.

Reliability

We respect timelines, commitments and standards, ensuring operational continuity in every project.

Safety

We place people, worksites and communities at the centre, through rigorous procedures, continuous training and a widespread culture of prevention.

Innovation

We adopt advanced technologies and methods, from trenchless solutions to network digitalisation, to tackle increasingly complex projects.

Sustainability

We reduce the impact of our operations and promote responsible use of resources, contributing to the creation of more efficient and durable infrastructure.

Responsibility

We operate with transparency and awareness of the social role of infrastructure, generating concrete value for territories, communities and stakeholders.
