SA.CO.I 3: CEBAT drills HVDC landings between Tuscany, Corsica, and Sardinia
CEBAT, through its subsidiary Quadrifoglio Drilling, is currently engaged in drilling activities for the HVDC cable landings as part of the SA.CO.I 3 project, a strategic infrastructure for the direct current electric connection between Tuscany, Corsica and Sardinia.
The CEBAT group operates within a joint venture and ensures the execution of 4 of the 5 planned landfalls, two of which are in Corsica (Bonifacio and Bastia), confirming its role as a reference in complex trenchless operations at the international level.
The project involves the execution of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) for the construction of cable ducts at land-sea landings, in sensitive environmental contexts.
Activities include:
The project will contribute to strengthening the electrical interconnection and the security of the energy system, representing the second Italy-France connection in which CEBAT participates, after the role played in the HVDC connection between Piedmont and Savoy.
